Cashmere Nicole’s Beauty Bakerie

I’m in love with Beauty Bakerie’s entire brand from the look to the sweet packaging. They are also another brand on my Christmas list. Hopefully, the hubs is reading this because I’d like a few of their treats in my stocking.

Beauty Bakerie is a banging black owned business founded by Cashmere Nicole, another plus in my book, because I’m always down to shop for the culture. She has survived many setbacks before getting to where she is now and a total inspiration to not give up. She’s a breast cancer survivor and a single mother.

I don’t even wear makeup like that, but when I see cool packaging, I swear it makes me want to purchase it, whether I’m going to use it or not. To be honest tho, their lip whip gloss and cake mix foundation is what had me at hello.

So, here’s another cool brand to love and support during the holidays. Treat yourself or gift to a friend or family member. I’ve got a couple of make up lovers and make up artists on my list who I know I could snag a few things for.

You can shop on line for Beauty Bakerie or find them at Sephora. Take a look!

Stocking Stuff With Woven Pear Socks for Christmas

For the first time last year we did stocking stuffing along with gifts under the tree. This year we will do the same and I’m already looking for the coolest items to stuff in each one, while supporting my favorite small businesses and entrepreneurs. For the past three years I’ve been a huge fan of the instagram worthy novelty socks by Woven Pear.

You’ll find socks with whimsy patterns, bold colors, food, and more. Each sock created to bring a little joy and smile to someones face when looked upon. If you’ve followed my post from the past, you’ll remember seeing some of the cutest socks on my feet, with icecream, donuts, and emojis too. Here’s some of my favorites below.

She's The Business: Meet UK Jewelry Designer Jess Adams

"THIS WORLD IS FULL OF CREATIVE ENTREPRENEURS, BOSS LADIES, AND MOMPRENURS WHO'VE MADE THE DECISION TO DO WHAT THEY LOVE. WHAT DO YOU DO?

Hi I'm Jess I'm 22 and I'm the owner of Jess Adams Design!

HOW DID YOU GET INTO IT?

I've always known I wanted to have a creative career. I ended up studying Fashion & Textiles at uni and specialised in knitwear. I made a graduate fashion collection which included accessories and this is where I discovered my love of jewellery design!

HOW DO YOU STAY CREATIVE?

I am constantly looking for inspiration. I spend the majority of my time on Pinterest - I'm obsessed!

WAS THERE EVER A TIME YOU WANTED TO QUIT?

I have a chronic illness which means everyday is a struggle. I had an office job which I had to leave due to this illness, which is when I decided to commit full time to my design business.

I don't think I'll ever want to quit working for myself. It works well around my illness as I can rest when I need to. It can be frustrating when you feel you're putting in effort and not getting much back but when you do make those sales it's the most incredible feeling.

WHAT ADVICE WOULD YOU GIVE ANOTHER YOUNG WOMAN WANTING TO START HER OWN BUSINESS?

Research beforehand! It's important to know your style and target market to then create your branding around it. Of course this will evolve over time but it's important that your brand has a cohesive message.

HOW DO YOU STAY ORGANIZED TO KEEP YOUR BUSINESS FLOWING?

I've always been a quite organised person! I have spreadsheets to keep track of all my finances and inventory. I also have so many notes on my phone as I write absolutely everything down.

WHATS YOUR FAVORITE APP TO USE FOR YOUR BUSINESS?

Instagram! It's a great platform to promote products, connect with other business owners and to reach out to potential customers! It's also a great source of inspiration for designing new collections.

WHATS YOUR FAVORITE QUOTE OR VERSE?

"You're a fighter. Look at everything you've overcome. Don't give up now."

Love, Jess Adams

Political Themed Enamel Pins

I’m no political nerd or anything but I do know we should all get out and vote. Today is the last day to get your voice heard in the midterm election! Don’t sit this one out, as your state and community representatives are just important as choosing a new president. Last time there was a great amount of people who didn’t care and then look what happened. We ended up with people in office who are horrible as ever. I’m suggesting from here on out we vote like our lives depend on it… since they actually kind of do. If you voted already kudos to you! With all that said… Here’s a few of my favorite top political themed enamel pins to enjoy.

WCW: Cardi B. and Milan Fashion Week

“Color is my fave and when I create mood boards for client brands, I love choosing images with fun, texture, and inspiration. I also stumble upon great patterns and colors through fashion. Welcome to the style series of my design diary.”

Todays woman crush Wednesday, goes to Cardi B and all her slayage during Paris Fashion month, this week in Milan. She, along with the help of her stylist, Kollin Carter, Killed It!

The Nanny was my show back in the day. Cardi has always reminded me of Fran Drescher whenever she does her whiny voice antics. So, why not mix an ode to the Nanny during fashion week too.

And then there was this dazzled pink Dolce & Gabbana suit with extra long blond hair! You already know how I feel… SWOONING

Which is your fave?
