Out & About At Chicagogrammers 2nd Birthday/Pool Party
ACS_0116.jpg

If you're in Chicago and Instagram is your jam, you should probably join the Chicagogrammers, a group on facebook and instagram that allows you to network with entrepreneurs and meet new people. Almost every week they send out a new location to meet up, most of which are sponsored and free. This past Sunday was a summer pool party in honor of their second birthday at 1407 on Michigan. While there, my cousin (Chicago Makeup Artist & Sheena Marie Glam Squad Makeup Artist) @zhanemaryann did my makeup and a live Facebook tutorial to grab some attention.

Founders of the group @Katie_Carrico & @thehungrybuddah did an amazing job putting the event together. Vendors attended with food, drinks, and booze while creative entrepreneurs showcased their business and work within the apartments of the building. Although I've been a member for awhile, this was my first time attending an event with any of them besides the ShopBuzzed Events that I was apart of last year in which some of the group members would attend. It's been hard to stick to RSVP's and dates when you've got kids and random things that are known to pop up. I do plan to attend more along with my cousins since I've made them sign up to get their networking on too.

The Happy Place Comes To Chicago and I Couldn't Miss It

I'm a tad bit late on this post since our weeks have been moving pretty fast now that the summer is almost over. We've been on an adventure trying to enjoy every last bit of it. This summer, Chicago finally got a chance to take advantage of a pop-up photo experience museum. I'm still waiting for The Museum of Ice-cream or Candytopia to make it here, but on Saturday, July 29, The Happy Place gave us all the vibes of fun and happiness. I attended with my cousin/business bestie/ Chicago makeup artist Zhane Mary Ann. For 2 hours, we were big ass kids and not ashamed. If you haven't been and you're in the Chicago area, it's here until September 3. Tickets are about $30.00 per person.

A Nautical Swanky & Chic Restaurant: The Hampton Social

Today I'm sharing one of my new favorite brunch spots in all of Chicago. The Hampton Social is a "Breezy hangout serving seafood & beach-themed cocktails in a stylish & nautical surrounding.”

Located at 353 W Hubbard St, Chicago, IL 60654, this downtown restaurant has you feeling like you're eating on a sophisticated yacht. I’ve had this place on my list of go-tos since last year and last week I finally got a chance to check it off my list.

The main reason I wanted to check it out, was because of it's design style from the logo to the decor. I’m a fan of good branding and an aesthetically pleasing atmosphere and this restaurant pulls off both.

Being that Hampton Social is the perfect place for brunch, afternoon dates, and time with your favorite squad, I recommended it to my sisters to try as a spot for us to celebrate graduations, promotions, and current life changes. The vibe is chic, a little boujee and the food is delish. I ordered one of their signature meals which was the Glazed Donuts and Waffles. You can go without the syrup, as the glaze is sweet enough. As for drinks, we each either had a FROSE (which had a tarte taste) or the Bees Knees ( a sweet rose tea).

Take a look at the video above to see our time there. I dare you to try! I'm confident you'll love The Hampton Social too.

Brunch Life at Fremont Chicago

Last weekend, I got the chance to celebrate my birthday and hang with my girls. These days we don’t get a chance to hang all together as much as we use to and I seldom get the opportunity to get out. So when we do, our time together is always fun and lit.

Fremont Chicago

Brunch is our thing and this month we chose to go to Fremont Chicago.

Not only is it a restaurant but it’s an upscale club, helping you mix the brunch life with day party fun.

I enjoyed every bit of my time there.

It had everything I loved, including donuts, waffles, deserts, wine, omelets and wine (yes, I said that twice)

The Omelet station was the first thing we tried. Right next to it was the carving station where different types of meat were available.

I chose not to get meat as I'm slowly trying to give it up, but here's a few pics below of my girls plates.

Everything looked so good. I admit, I did treat myself to a side of bacon.

Eventually I made my way to the donut wall. There were so many to choose from.

This place definitely stays on my list as a go to spot for brunch and date with the hubs. If you're in Chicago, and havent already been there, GO!
